Pierrot le Fou - Attina Zhang

Pierrot le Fou (1965), directed by French director Jean-Luc Godard, is one of my favorite movies of all time. Therefore, I decided to do pay homage to it in my final project. These are important motifs I collected from the movie and they all have different profound meanings. Initially, the protagonist Pierrot wrote "la rt" on the paper, which means "the art" in French. However, after experiencing the betrayal of his lover, he added "mo" in front of "rt" to make it "la mort", which means "the death" in French. In the very end, he wrapped two strands of fireworks (as pictured on the top left corner) around himself and lit them up - he committed suicide. I highly recommend this movie that explores philosophy of life and death, meaning of love and betrayal, and excels at aesthetics and art to all of y'all.

Thank you all for an amazing semester.
